Drew graduated from Roncalli High School in 2002, and attended Ivy Tech college, studying Business Management.

Coomes went on to work for the Indy Racing Experience as manager of the Marketing and Experiential Marketing units.

Drew joined Sarah Fisher Racing in the fall of 2009.

Away from the track, he enjoys home remodeling projects and spending time with friends and family.
