Joe Ward joined Sarah Fisher Racing shortly after its inception in 2008. Joe worked on motorcycles for many years at England Cycle and Dreyer Cycle before spending five years as a mechanic at Hendrick Motorsports with fellow Sarah Fisher Racing employee, John O’Gara.

Following his employment with Hendrick, Ward went on to work for Bettenhausen Motorsports/HVM for 14 years as a gearbox mechanic eventually becoming team manager and continuing in management until he departed in 2005.

In 2006, Ward joined Dreyer & Reinbold Racing where he spent three seasons.

Away from the track, Joe likes to ride motorcycles.

He resides in Avon, Indiana with his children, Tyler and Paige.
